A mid-altitude ski resort is facing major challenges – the climate crisis is melting the snow, the pandemic had negative economic consequences and the energy crisis is weakening tourism – the ski lifts are about to close. For the people in the region; however, it is the livelihood of their families and generations to come.
Through an EDIH “Crowd in Motion” idea campaign, people from the region will be involved in its future developments and the village will continue to sustain itself. After the announcement of the call for ideas to save the ski area, committed citizens have come forward with many ideas and suggestions on how to preserve the ski area. Transparency and the involvement of residents and business owners from the idea to the implementation stage lead to the success of the campaign.
