Challenge
The Fieberbrunn cable cars decided to undergo a digital transformation to modernize their lifts on the Lärchfilzkogel when their group cabins from 1991 were retired. With the aim of realizing an innovative and modern 10-seater monorail cable car, they started the “goodbyehello” crowdfunding campaign. This campaign not only marked the end of an era, but also the beginning of a new chapter for the Fieberbrunn cable cars and the region.
Methods
To finance this ambitious project, the Fieberbrunn cable cars relied on the support of the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) Crowd-in-Motion (CiMo). It was crucial to set up an effective crowdfunding platform and develop a powerful marketing strategy to reach the community, guests and local businesses.
Result, Impact
Through cooperation with EDIH CiMo, the Fieberbrunn cable cars were able to achieve their goals. The crowdfunding campaign was a success, as the targeted funding goal of €200,000 was reached within a very short time.
Another important aspect was the proactive approach of the Fieberbrunn cable cars to digital transformation. They provided visualization elements and a landing page to support communication and community building. This helped raise awareness of the campaign and encourage community involvement.
The crowdfunding campaign will continue until March 2024 to take advantage of the winter season. This offers the Fieberbrunn cable cars the opportunity to continue to gain support for their project and to further exceed the funding target.
Important lessons were learned from this experience. The importance of sufficient resources, an experienced team and a well-planned launch strategy became clear. Furthermore, the successful implementation of the campaign shows how important it is to seize the opportunities offered by digital innovation and to commit to a sustainable future.
